Regimental Colonels
[edit]I have been working on the regimental colonels section of this article. It is my understanding that Charles Hagart was Colonel of the 7th Q.O Hussars during the Indian mutiny 1857-58, however upon examination it appears that in this article he appears much later, the reader is told that he was in command of the Q.O 1873–1879; Hagart died in ‘79 at the age of 65, (understandably?) my thoughts are that this information is wrong. Therefore it would seem like this section of the article needs a swap around.
“The regiment was under the command of Lieut-Col James M Hagart the younger brother of Colonel Charles Hagart who had commanded the regiment up to this point, although there seems to be some period of time in India during which there was joint command.” [1] Hauling Rags (talk) 17:05, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
- Hi - Charles Hagart was commanding officer i.e. lieutenant-colonel of the 7th Hussars during the Indian Rebellion. He did not become colonel until 1873. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 17:51, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
- Much obliged! Have you got any supporting references? Hauling Rags (talk) 18:38, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, I have edited the article on Charles Hagart adding the supporting references. By the way you need to ensure that you do not use copyrighted material in wikipedia articles. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 18:48, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
- Apologies for copyrighted material, I'll keep that in mind in future. Many thanks! Hauling Rags (talk) 18:53, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
- No problem. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 18:58, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
