ABC3[edit]

As the current plans for ABC3 are not yet officially confirmed in a press release, please discuss the proposal of ABC3 in this article in the meantime. Stickeylabel 02:13, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Surely ABC3 should go in an article of its own.. It has nothing in common, apart from programming, with the well and truly dead-and-buried ABC Kids - first of all it's actually getting government funding ($50 million, as opposed to ABC2's $2 million and ABC Kids/Fly's zilch), secondly it's a completely different name, and thirdly it's a new channel - not a replacement.
To that end I think I'll go off and start the ABC3 article now.. timgraham 10:58, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The ABC3 should be built when a solid press release is available. At current all that is available is a tentative title from a few news outlets. As well as this, the channel is subject to Australia's federal election, so the channel cannot be confirmed. At current there is not enough information to warrant an article. Please wait for an actual press release from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Stickeylabel 11:02, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I say we hold off on any article until it can be officially confirmed, either via an ABC or government press statement. Our government has proposed a lot of things in the past, most of which differ slightly until an official announcement is made. Smacca 11:14, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am starting to add links out of the ABC pages as at now due to the final announcement of the channel. DeadlyHands (talk) 09:50, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bad Idea[edit]

This was a bad idea to redirect the ABC Kids block to the old 2001-3 channel. What's the point? The block still runs and the channel does not still run. The two are different so unredirect it THIS instant. 66.30.30.53 (talk) 20:03, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion[edit]

I think this page should be deleted because ABC Kids Channel does not refer to ABC3 at all. ABC3 is a completely different channel to ABC Kids Channel, hence the superfluity of the disambiguation article. 124.168.231.169 (talk) 05:37, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the last couple of comments here. Since the original change appears to have been done without discussion, I'll revert the changes now. -- Chuq (talk) 04:45, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
The result of this discussion was to merge the pages in question. – Nick Mitchell 98 talk 03:31, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I propose that this article be merged into ABC Kids (Australia) as this article involves an earlier incarnation of the current ABC Kids channel. Both incarnations share their names, and serve the same purpose: they are both programming blocks on ABC television channels. In addition, the current ABC Kids channel article possesses little information, so a merge into a more appropriate page makes sense. – Nick Mitchell 98 talk 06:23, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I also propose that Fly TV be included in this merge for the same reasons specified above. – Nick Mitchell 98 talk 08:51, 16 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
