There were some differences between the S-1 and S-3 carbodies. The S-3 had a more welded carbody and less riveted construction. Also rubber moldings were installed on all the windows. Dorin, Patrick C. (1972). Chicago and North Western Power. Superior Publishing. p. 134-5. ISBN 0-87564-715-4. has C&NWRy drawings and spec sheets for their loco’s, that’s where most of this comes from. Sammy D III (talk) 19:04, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
