2012-04-01 Edits to the text to refer to the current doc (Rev A) which has a new title and correct some minor inaccuracies in the prior text. ARP4761 is still under revision and may be for at least another year. Bjbuelow (talk) 18:24, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

Sept 2010 - This document has been in the revision process for several years and is about to be released as ARP4754A. It also has a new title: GUIDELINES FOR DEVELOPMENT OF CIVIL AIRCRAFT AND SYSTEMS

There are numerous substantial changes, the most significant being to the Development Assurance section. Some aircraft certification programs will quickly fall under this guideline.

The committee is now moving on to revising ARP4761 to Rev A. Bjbuelow (talk) 18:27, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

Ambiguity re date[s][edit]

The "lede" part of the article says, in part, that

Revision A was released in 2010-12.

Does the "2010-12" mean December of 2010, or "2010 through 2012"? I thought I could guess -- (the latter) -- but along came another sentence, right nearby, in the same paragraph, containing the phrase "published 2011-11".

IMHO every such instance should be made unambiguous. If you [any editor] say "December of 2010", then there is no misunderstanding. If you say "2010 through 2012" then there is no misunderstanding. Easy!

The same advice applies to the "published" date. If it means "November of 2011", then it should say that. If it (was intended to) mean "2011 through 2011" then ... in that case, my only idea is that there must be some TYPO or misunderstanding or other mistake.

Just my 0.02. YMMV. --Mike Schwartz (talk) 21:12, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

16 December 2013 Revised dates to remove ambiguity. ARP4761A draft and edits are proceeding but not expected to be released until 2015 at the soonest. (Bjbuelow (talk) 03:48, 17 December 2013 (UTC))

Resolved: "Case closed."

Thank you!
PS: I think "some" of the date/time stamps here are using UTC (which iirc is the same as GMT) (probably familiar to most pilots!) while some of the other date/time stamps, here, are using some other time zone. (local time? where a certain edit was made "from"? ...I guess...) --Mike Schwartz (talk) 18:07, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

Info box[edit]

I created an info box to visually tie the SAE publications, following the Template:RTCA standard info box. Discussion might be found here. I am looking to highlight the connections illustrated in Figure 1 of ARP4754A. -- IveGoneAway (talk) 14:15, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
