Some issues I see with this article
[edit]- Numerous peacock terms
- No references/citations
- Appears to be totally WP:OR/WP:CRUFT
Thoughts? -- weirdoactor t|c 22:21, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. It's pretty much me writing as a complete newbie. I really ought to fix it. Moreschi Deletion! 11:04, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- Well. Yes. Especially considering that you are a...what's the word? Ah, yes...deletionist. Sort of ruins your credibility. Hee. Want some help? -- weirdoactor t|c 21:21, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- I plead the fifth amendment...err, that's WP:BITE. Don't cut too much, though, 'cause most of it's true and I've even got a source. Cheers, Moreschi Deletion! 21:24, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- Cut? Heck no. I was hoping to help you source (I'm a research junkie, thus my love of Wikipedia); but if you've got one, splendid. That and make it read less like a review in some places, and more encyclopedic. Do you want the help? I'm more than willing. This is a cool article that's more than worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, and I want to make it stronger. Right now, it could probably be WP:AfD'd most riki-tick on the issues I mentioned alone; and I'd like to help avoid that from happening. I can tell by your user name (which is awesome, by the way) that you have the same passion for the subject I do; so I'm more than willing to pitch in, if you want my help. -- weirdoactor t|c 04:48, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Please...be my guest...go ahead! And good luck! Cheers, Moreschi Deletion! 11:05, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- I haven't had a chance to do any work on this article yet; but you're really taking the bull by the horns! I'll try to help, but this week sucks schedule-wise for me. Just wanted to commend you on the work! -- weirdoactor t|c 23:34, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you. Alright, I think that's a bit better. Still too many peacock terms but at least we now have references and 13 inline cits. Coming back, older and wiser, to correct your own newbie mistakes is quite a humbling experience, and certainly an interesting one. Hammers home the importance of WP:BITE, I supppose. Moreschi Deletion! 18:29, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- Don't discount your own bravery; I've been on here awhile, and have yet to create an article. BAWK! I'm scared of being speedied, and then crying all over my DRV forms. -- weirdoactor t|c 18:39, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, I didn't create this one, but I have numerous others. It kind of helps that it seems as though all operas are notable and the vast majority of opera singers are also notable, and that I write mostly about opera. Thanks again. Do you want to cut some of the more peacocky terms? It's often hard to see your own mistakes, but I will add some more cites a bit later on. Cheers, Moreschi Deletion! 18:43, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
