Reason for spike in views
[edit]Just for anyone who cares to look at the views per day, you may notice that there has recently been a MASSIVE spike in views. http://stats.grok.se/en/201109/A_moron_in_a_hurry I believe that this is due to Notch posting about it on his blog (http://notch.tumblr.com/post/10814623188/the-eventual-release-and-the-legal-documents) Just FYI for the curious. :D Jessemv (talk) 04:23, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
Offensive?
[edit]i have been chastised in the realworld for using "moron"; it is apparently one of those words like "retard" and "midget" which are now considered offensive. is it appropriate for people to use this expression in wiki articles (one of which brought me here), much less courtrooms?
i can think of some choice expressions using the N-word, epithets for Jews, etc., but i don't hear people dropping them casually into articles like they do with this expression. 66.105.218.30 (talk) 01:30, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
Not only in trademark/copyright cases
[edit]The article suggests that this phrase is used only in copyright cases, but e.g. the judge in the Sally Bercow vs. Lord McAlpine twitter defamation case stated that "only a moron in a hurry would be unaware of the context of the tweet". 78.21.0.194 (talk) 17:50, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
