Article name

[edit]

Initially, I planned to put this action under the Actions near Alexandria article. However, the description of this combat got so big that I decided to create a separate article. As far as I can find, this clash is not named in the sources, so I used the naming convention for naval actions and called it "Action of 26-27 April 1864". The battle was fought near the confluence of the Red River and the Cane River, which is near Colfax, Louisiana. If anyone can discover a better name for this action, let's please discuss it at this page. Thanks. Djmaschek (talk) 04:41, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion

[edit]

Reviewing the lead, it feels to me as though the last three sentences of the first paragraph should be moved to the end of the second paragraph, to place events in a more chronological arrangement. Cheers, Zawed (talk) 06:57, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Zawed: I re-wrote the introduction, trying to make it more chronological. Thanks for the review. Djmaschek (talk) 21:51, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Zawed: It says "class=V" under WP Military history.
