The article could use more links to other relevant topics in Wikipedia. The article has a fair amount of jargon; please keep the target audience in mind. Also, it seems from the presented information that it is not clear that this virus has a pathogenic role vs. was present by coincidence in a single patient. Please place into context, either with a qualifying statement or with additional references or information supporting the idea that this virus is pathogenic in humans.Ireneachen (talk) 00:51, 23 February 2021 (UTC)
Simon's notes
Intro:
- If febrile illness is the same as a fever, I’d say ‘fever’ for ease of understanding.
- I want to see the basic virus info that Dr. Chen often says when introducing a virus. i.e. capsid structure, genome size and type
Background of discovery:
- Could use an extra phrase or sentence to explain why Papa and Velo wanted to do this study.
- I’m not 100% clear on why the sandflies were divided into pools.
- Is it quantified how different the Adria virus is from other phelboviruses?
- The use of scientist last names seems strange to me. Unless the researchers themselves are really important, I feel like wikipedia articles would usually say something like “In 2005, a team of researchers…” rather than the actual names.
Pathogenesis in humans:
- Where was the patient with Adria virus? Albania?
- This sentence “The obtained sequence was identical to sequences collected in 2005 in Adriatic coastal region of Albania” says the same thing as a sentence in the first paragraph of this section. I would move the previous sentence “Viral RNA was extracted from the patient's blood…” into the first paragraph.
- I don’t understand what “clusters with” means in this context.Simon.Ng100 (talk) 06:51, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
