Inconsistencies
[edit]The wording of some of this is misleading or just plain wrong. There are also major omissions that totally change the meaning of things. First, there is no talk about that fact that the Afgedamde Maas was not only damned off at its southern end, but that it's seperated/controlled from the Waal/Boven Merwede by the Wilhelminasluis in Andel. Secondly, while there is mention made of the damming off of the river from the Maas immediately less of Well, there is no mention of the construction of the river being connected back to the Maas/Bergse Maas via the Heusden Canal, nor is there mention of the Kromme Nolkering flood lock to prevent high water on the river. In that same vein, that makes the part about the Afgedamde Maas receiving no water from the Maas a bit debatable. Maybe it should be reversed to say that the Afgedamde Maas flows into the Maas instead or in addition to?
Because as the article is currently written, it makes it sound like the Afgedamde Maas 1. Flows directly into the Waal/Boven Merwede without any opposition, when it's clearly damned to keep it seperate from that river, and 2. makes it sound like the Afgedamde Maas is completely seperate of the Maas/Bergse Maas since it doesn't mention the Heusdan Canal connection.
