A general of the reserve, guerrila and liberation war combatant. Of Maconde ethnicity and from the plateau of Mueda, Cabo Delgado Province, was also one of the soldiers from the time of Samora Machel.
He was Inspector-General of Defence at the MDN at the time of his appointment as minister. He was previously Commander of the 1st Motorised Infantry Brigade (1984-86) and Military Commander of Maputo Provínce.[1]
