Style[edit]

In his lectures, he gave an idea of continuum mechanics as a branch of mathematical physics, rather than an independent applied discipline. However, his specific approach to lecture has not attracted a lot of engineering students even though the formulations were absolutely precise, the definitions were clear, and the arguments were well knit - not to say that he was always perfectly prepared.
