Incorrect name

[edit]

The names "Base 80" or "80th base" are not correct. 80 doesn't refer to the base, but to the 80th brigade which was stationed there (before the war). So the correct term should be "80th Brigade military base" or "Brigade 80 military base".

Could someone please change it here and in the main Battle of Aleppo page? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Aleppo_%282012-13%29 ZFR77 (talk) 01:16, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My edit was reverted with the note: "Doesn't matter what its called in Arabic, this is the english wikipedia, and I counted that 4 sources in the section call it base 80 while 3 call it brigade 80. So...."
The fact remains that the number 80 refers to the brigade, and not the base (military bases in Syria are not assigned numbers). I don't want to start edit warring, but I still think it should be changed, especially since enough English sources support this. ZFR77 (talk) 16:57, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sheikh Najjar

[edit]

Meanwhile, Syria's state-run news agency said the Syrian army carried out "intensive, successful qualitative operations" against armed rebels in the northern province of Aleppo, eliminating several groups with all of their weapons and equipments. The operations took place at Kastello, Sheikh Najjar, west of Khan al-Asal town, al-Bab, and east of al-Nairab area among others, the report said.Global TimesPhil StarXinhuaeastday EastdayWikimapia37.52.27.151 (talk) 10:54, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

State tv is not a reliable source. If State tv gets used, yallasouriya gets used Sopher99 (talk) 21:32, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

yallasouriya is just a blog which collects pro-opposition tweets, quit being a whiny ass.Rob2013 (talk)--75.34.42.44 (talk) 04:48, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Correction for last report

[edit]

"On 28 November, government and rebel forces clashed in the outskirts of Aziziyeh, leaving 20 government fighters and 11 rebels dead" the fight didnt take place in the outskirts of "Aziziyeh" but near Aziza town which is west of the Aleppo Airport. Check on the SOHR it will say "Aziza". Here is the link showing Aziza which is a under the Syrian Military control.Rob2013 (talk--75.34.42.44 (talk) 04:48, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
