[edit]Nadler has been a major figure in the contemporary Jewish world for more than two decades. He was the rabbi of Canada's most prestigious synagogue and later the director of YIVO -- the most important Yiddish research institute in the world. His work in repatriating YIVO's Holocaust-plundered collections was a front-page story in the New York Times in 1995. He is one of the world's leading scholars and critics of Hasidism. No reason to delete this page; rather, to add to it.

I'm not quite sure why chocolatepizza would want to delete this page. Nadler is surely a high-profile and very controversial Jewish scholar and rabbi. His quarrels with the Lubavitchers alone merit an article, since his criticisms anticipated Rabbi Berger's work by 10 years !
Rosh Hamevakrim (talk) 05:25, 3 February 2022 (UTC)== Self promotional puff piece ==
This is a self promotional puff piece which is obviously written by Allan Nadler himself. CaseyHamMD (talk) 05:04, 13 November 2017 (UTC) (Allan Nadler here). Hello CaseyHamMD: astudent of mine, who is now a colleague and friend; called my attention to the inappropriately hostile personal remarks about this article. While I added to, corrected and deleted some of the material, many hands went into this evolving article. I do not understand however why there is any need to attack my character. Do you know me ? Have I ever done anything to hurt or humiliate you? If so, whatever the sin, that is terrible and I am sorry. But it is really terrible to insult people and attack their character for all to see. I do not know your level of Rabbinic lit. or Hebrew, but there is a powerful statement of the Sages, which begins "Ha-Malbin pnei chavero ba-rabim...." See the second part, the analogy. If you find any inaccuracies in this article, which I did not initiate, and only the content regarding the most recent years of my career was by me, then PLEASE correct the errors of fact; delete things you find "obnoxious", add things that are missing (and there are plenty), but be decent and remove the defamatory remarks about my character. So un-need, for some reason (I am clueless, truly) so angry, it sounds like personal hostility. My career is what it has been. And I do not see any errors of fact. Why not fix whatever you find broken, in a constructive way. Kol dichfin....anyone can participate in any corrections or additions. Visit my academia.edu for a partial list of my publications. I am naive about this platform, and it was a student at Drew many years ago, who was my Assistant, who began all of this. Many thanks for being courteousRosh Hamevakrim (talk) 05:11, 3 February 2022 (UTC) Look at Wikipedia's guidelines for civility, which prohobits personal attacks an insults, and do the decent and constructive thing. This whole business is very hurtful. Rosh Hamevakrim (talk) 05:25, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
Still a puff piece
[edit]Not disputing Rabbi Nadler’s significance nor doubting that there should be an article on him - but this is not a balanced article - even the comments about his importance appear to be more about self-importance. One suspects that he is the author of the main article and its defense.
Wikipedia is wonderful, but uneven. Often there are articles about institutions that are obviously written by their own PR department. The Nadler article is a similar but of self advancement, of, by and for Rabbi Nadler himself. That’s limiting, inauthentic as scholarship and a tad obnoxious. CaseyHamMD (talk) 01:03, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
The article seems to be written by several sock puppets of Nadler himself- including Litvak, Royterrov, Der Nistar, Velvel fishvasser, and possibly a few more. --Jayrav (talk) 02:47, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
