Religious beliefs

[edit]

What do they believe in? 205.189.94.9 (talk) 19:54, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Currently, the majority are christian with a tiny moslem community. However, to date a lot of them still believe in spirits, both the malevolent and those of our ancestors. Collectively called "Jok", the supreme deity spirit is called "Jok Rubanga Nyakacwiya" which translates to the spirit of Rubanga the creator. The main aspect of religion back then was ancestor worship and the spirits of the ancestors could either be benevolent or malevolent depending on the circumstances.
