Serious cleanup needed

[edit]

I'm replacing some cleanup tags that another editor removed. I'm sorry, but this article, and especially the lead, is incomprehensible. It gives absolutely no information about what the company does. (... coordinates services for individuals in publicly funded health care programs (exploits Medicare?) ... accepts all eligible people (of course, but who is eligible?) ... dedicated to offering real solutions (What? tell us what they do, not what they're dedicated to.) The entire article is more promotional than informative and looks like something that only someone in Amerigroup's public relations department would write, but the lead in particular needs to be completely redone. 'Accepts all eligible people' is (or was) a tautology. Typical of the general 'saying nothing in as many words as possible' style of the article. What the company actually does is make money for itself, but hey, I'm a jaded old cynicTheLongTone (talk) 00:03, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I initially thought that by including the undefined qualifier "eligible", that it would at least be true. But after a little digging, it turns out just a few years ago they had a little $225 million disagreement with the state of Illinois about whether or not pregnant women counted as eligible. I've added some sources regarding that to the article. Kilopi (talk) 03:43, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
