Gas Giant / Massive Planet?

[edit]

Is it really likely that carbonia could form in the *interior* of a gas giant? Consider the effect the presence of any water would have on solid silica - the self-dissociating nature of water would likely rip the carbonia to shreds. Now, considering that all the gas giants are abundant in supply of hydrogen, what are the odds that oxygen will find its way to making carbonia, without somehow having made water in the meantime?

That statement strikes me as pure speculation, and likely wrong at that, but if someone can at least provide a citation to anything peer-reviewed, or any sort of evidence (or counter-argument) I'd love to leave it as it provokes thought to be sure. Zaphraud (talk) 01:21, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
