Short story?

[edit]

I wonder if the following statement is true: "Welsh writers in English have traditionally favoured the short story form over the novel"? Perhaps it should read: "Welsh writers in English favoured the short story form over the novel until after [World War II?]"? Rwood128 (talk) 16:00, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The discussion of this is only in the lede and it lacks evidence. Rwood128 (talk) 16:09, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
On further thought the The New Companion to the Literature of Wales is the probable source of the discussion in the lede. However I still think the wording needs revising. Rwood128 (talk) 16:18, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have revised the lede but who are the writers referred to? and when did the novel become more important? This needs to be considered in the body to the article. Rwood128 (talk) 16:36, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Novel

[edit]

Furthermore the discussion of the novel lacks focus. There needs to be separate discussions of poetry, drama and the novel for each period. Rwood128 (talk) 16:50, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Rwood128 why no mention anywhere of the English Language Section of AG, and it's considerable achievements.? 109.144.27.37 (talk) 14:54, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
109.144.27.37, please fix. Rwood128 (talk) 17:00, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Historical background

[edit]

This seems to be overburdened with unnecessary detail. And surely the inclusion a pic of Handel is stretching the limits of relevance! 84.92.52.232 (talk) 19:44, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks,User 84.92.52.232. Try and fix and improve the article. I agree about Handel, and will remove it, if you don't first.Rwood128 (talk) 20:37, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
