Inclusion of Kiswahili (Kiunguja)
[edit]Why isn't Kiswahili (or at least the principle dialect Kiunguja) included in this list? Modern Swahili has very few Arabic loan words as a percentage of its lexicon. The Kiswahili of 1800AD had approximately 50% loan-words. The Arabic influence in East Africa stretches back at least 1,000 years and we can only assume that earlier Kiswahili had a more substantial portion of Arabic loan words within its lexicon.
Modern scholars assert that Swahili is a Bantu Language because the grammatical basis is Bantu. O...K, but since when is the grammatical basis of a creole language instrumental in determining its origin (isn't grammar the first thing to disappear in a creole language from the more grammatically complex parent language)?
I still think it's worth at least mentioning Swahili there plus the article is way too short Nlivataye (talk) 11:43, 6 October 2022 (UTC)
