Find correct name
The airport is not listed as João Paulo II anywhere.
The airport's own website calls itself simply Ponta Delgada, and has no mention of João Paulo.
Template:Regions of Portugal: statistical (NUTS3) subregions and intercommunal entities are confused; they are not the same in all regions, and should be sublisted separately in each region: intermunicipal entities are sometimes larger and split by subregions (e.g. the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon has two subregions), some intercommunal entities are containing only parts of subregions. All subregions should be listed explicitly and not assume they are only intermunicipal entities (which accessorily are not statistic subdivisions but real administrative entities, so they should be listed below, probably using a smaller font: we can safely eliminate the subgrouping by type of intermunicipal entity from this box).
I am from Armacao de Pera and I have many pictures from the area. (Live in Canada now, but thats besides the point)
It has a large beach, over 3 km of sand. It is directly bordered by 2 different zones, Lagoa, Silves (where the town is) and Albufeira. At the far edge of the beach, approching Albufeira (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albufeira), you arrive at a nude beach. There are no buildings in this area for 2km (going towards Armacao) because the lands are "protected" dunes (and they flood in the winters...).
..I have a lot more, but if it wont be used, I will not bother.
Any interest, email daniel at simpletofind.ca and I will post a link to my photo blog with many details.
Oh, and finally, in the summer you have two distinct "rushes" of tourists, June-July is maily English (from the UK), (many other european contries), August is mainly portuguese residents from the north on holidays.
This was never always like that when I was younger, and the only common thing for me was the Portuguese and German tourists.
