Untitled[edit]

An employer has a legal obligation to hold open a ta soldiers job for his return, they are only legally allowed to fire him/her if that person had volunteered for service ( and been stupid enough to tell them they had volunteered). The employer is compensated by the mod for removing employees from work.

- This is correct. I have amended the text --80.168.164.39 12:21, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

I do not have the information to edit the article but the section on the present day TA complete omits TA medical Services - the TA arm of RAMC comprising at least 10 units.

Territorial Force[edit]

I've split a chunk of this article off into Territorial Force, where the early form can be dealt with in more detail... Shimgray | talk | 18:20, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

FANYs[edit]

I think it might be worth mentioning the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry or at least adding it to the 'see also' list. While it's technically a civilian charity, it is run along the lines of a TA unit and has worked with the TA for a long time. Thoughts? Objections? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.77.3.226 (talk) 09:06, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Indian Territorial Army[edit]

Can we have a disambiguation page with a link leading to Indian territorial army. 203.200.35.32 (talk) 15:21, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

100 Years of the TA[edit]

Floral Clock in Edinburgh decorated in celebration of 100 years of the TA

The Floral Clock in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh is currently designed in celebration of 100 years of the TA. I uploaded this image in case it may be relevant to add to the article. There are not many pictures in the article anyway so it may be nice to add. --Delta-NC (talk) 00:26, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

TA pay[edit]

The article says TA soilders are paid at same as there equivelent regular counter parts. THis is no longer the case as all TA pay for this year has stoped and units are expected to train for free. WHat is the best way to incluse this in the article Stupidstudent (talk) 23:07, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

ArmrReserve[edit]

should this not now change to Army Reserve considering that is now the term moving forward and all insignia/use of TA to disappear by Xmas? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.145.130.246 (talk) 14:56, 20 October 2013 (UTC)

Do you have any authoritive links/sources which describe this in detail? If the term Territorial Army is to be dropped, no renaming should be done until that happens. Articles shouldn't be renamed preemptively. The term is still in use here: Territorial and Reserves. --Danrok (talk) 17:12, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

TAVR[edit]

Speaking as an alien (AUS, still bitter and twisted!), I fail to see the relationship between Transcatheter aortic valve repair (TAVR), as mentioned above the lead, and the UK Army Reserve. Could somebody explain it, please (puzzled colonial)Lexysexy (talk) 06:12, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

The hatnote was added because TAVR redirects to this article. As noted in the Lead sentence, a previous name for the Army Reserve is Territorial and Army Volunteer Reserve (TAVR). I've used the correct hatnote to make the clear. (Former colonial whose country fought to free itself from the UK because of taxation without representation, and won. But after 230 years, we find taxation isn't any better even with representation!) - BilCat (talk) 06:38, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
Thank you, I should have seen that! Re taxation, that's politics for you.Lexysexy (talk) 01:28, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
