WarpForce Section

User:99.25.115.28 removed the WarpForce section at 23:16, 12 February 2010. This section was significant in the article, and I'm reverting the change. Thank you, ExoKiller4 (talk) 00:08, 13 February 2010 (UTC).

MECHQUEST PAGE

why doesn't someone make a mechquest page it used to be there but now it's gone.

I've been working on one. It'll be up in a week or two. --Eruhildo (talk) 18:52, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Thank you —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.110.74.44 (talk) 20:54, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Expansion

Expanded the content of the games a bit. This really needs some fleshing out. I was wondering if we should add little minigame descriptions to the Ebil Games as well. --Ronan Alifar (talk —Preceding comment was added at 23:37, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for doing that - it really needed it. All descriptions of the EbilGames games should go in the EbilGames article. --Eruhildo (talk) 00:07, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Hmm...it just looks a little...empty. I mean, if the major games have it, why not the minigames? Perhaps we should remove the EbilGames alltogether. --Ronan Alifar (talk) 15:58, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, the major games have much longer articles of their own. EbilGames is not very expansive. (although I have been trying to work on it a bit lately) Besides, there's so many games, it would just be a list of descriptions. I suppose you could add something like "all are 2-D single-player games yadda yadda". Alinnisawest (talk) 22:38, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

BIG expansion

I just made some major updates. There's still a long way to go, but I'm on it. Ronan Alifar (talk) 21:59, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you, Ronan! This page has long been in need of some severe rewriting. Alinnisawest (talk) 22:31, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Alinnisawest. I just added a box, and I'm currently putting on the logo.Ronan Alifar (talk) 23:04, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Nice job y'all - the page is way better than it was. Just some things to remember: the game titles should always be italicized and should only be wikilinked for their first appearance in the article, and the names of the staff should not be in boldface. The infobox with the logo looks awesome - great job Ronan. --Eruhildo (talk) 20:17, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Staff Section

Please add new comments to the bottom of sections. My reply is below, under your second notice. --Alinnisawest(talk) 22:58, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

I'm really unsure about what to do with that. There are other staff who should or perhaps should not go there. Maybe it shouldn't be there at all. Any opinions? Ronan Alifar (talk) 07:34, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

I think the section is important. Only the core staff should be listed in my opinion. --Eruhildo (talk) 20:20, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
In answer to your question, Eruhildo, I just looked it up and it's James Adams[1]. (It's his profile from the forums.) It seems... weird to call him that, though. I guess I'm just used to him being either Warlic or JD Adams. Alinnisawest (talk) 17:00, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Well that clears up a lot for me - thanks for looking that up. What do you think the best way to write that in the article would be? --Eruhildo (talk) 18:49, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Not really sure, but I think we should add in about how they are NPCs, too. Alinnisawest (talk) 22:46, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
I too think that would be good as long as it's done from a real world perspective. --Eruhildo (talk) 14:39, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Is Rena Bouchard (Reens) a notable staff member? And where is that page on the Artix website that lists all the staff members? I can't remember. --Eruhildo (talk) 19:05, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

What website? Can you give me the link? I might be able to see the page through my own search engine. Captain | contribs 04:37, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
This[2] what you mean? Alinnisawest (talk) 08:46, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Bingo. Thanks so much! --Eruhildo (talk) 03:44, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Yeah. I found it by using Copernic Agent Basic. Captain | contribs 23:29, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
I actually updated some things in the staff section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Safiria nyx (talkcontribs) 03:33, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

I removed some of the staff's real names. I work for the company as Safiria (Courtney Nawara), and the owner, Adam, asked me to remove them. Only 3 staff members are permitted to have their 'real' names available to the public: Adam, Tony & Courtney. Please do not add any names back, and please do not add other staff member's names back. 8/11/08. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Safiria (talkcontribs) 21:41, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Quite frankly, whether you're the real Safiria or not, we have no verification for this. This is Wikipedia, an encyclopedia, and Adam Bohn has made no request (a verifiable request) for us to remove the names, nor has he or any other staff member stated in any verifiable place that only those three names can be released. Furthermore, remember that not all of those who come to this article are familiar with the way NPCs and staff members work in the games and would be very confused as to who these people are if only their game names were given. --Alinnisawest(talk) 22:56, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Alinnisawest - This is at Adam Bohn's request, and since I work for him, he asked me to do this. You can contact me at my Artix Entertainment email which is Safiria at BattleOn dot com for confirmation of this. - Safiria

I respect your wish to protect the identities of your staff members; however, please bear in mind that this is an encyclopedia - we put up facts impartially. I suggest you ensure there is no mention of staff members' real names on your websites as that will cause there to be no grounds for having them here. I'm afraid I've forgotten where we pulled the names from before, so I can't help you with that. It may have been from interviews though. Also, while I'm not saying you've had a problem with this, please be careful to comply with Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline when editing AE related articles. Thank you! --Eruhildo (talk) 23:07, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Hiya, I believe in all the articles and interviews that we've done, the only 3 names ever given were Adam Bohn, Tony Deller and Courtney Nawara. The names that were taken off of the forums have since been removed. And thank you for removing the other names. We appreciate it. - Safiria —Preceding unsigned comment added by Safiria (talkcontribs) 22:46, 14 August 2008 (UTC) http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Artix_Entertainment&action=edit&section=4 Interesting and completely off-topic, but J6's name is Jason Boivert. And I did a Wikiblame search and no one has ever added it to this article! I'm shocked, quite frankly... although perhaps no one else ever thought to do a reverse domain lookup on "ebilgames.com", wonder what this "juntari.com" business was hosted on the same server, and compare the credits from the version of DFA posted on that site to the public one on Youtube. The fascinating things you can discover on the Internet... --Alinnisawest,Dalek Empress (extermination requests here) 15:20, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

I'm curious, is ALL of AE's web-based games' characters named after actual AE staff? Or is it just a few of the actual characters? I know Escherion from AQW and J6 from MQ are, but what about Artix and Rolith? Thanks. Mr Kirby XIII A creative writer. Mr Kirby XIII (talk) 22:11, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Not all, but many of them are. I'm not too up on my AQ characters, but Falerin is a real person. Other staff members with in-game counterparts are Maegwyn (MQ), Warlic, Rolith/Eselgee, Artix, J6, Reens/whatever she's called in AQ, Cysero, Geopetal (well, she has a rock in DF, does that count?), Captain Rhubarb, Thyton, Aisha, Ghost (he showed up in one war, anyway), Scakk (I think... not sure on this one), Pae, Safiria, Nythera, Zhoom, Icemaster Yeti, and Galanoth. (whew, that's quite the list when you write it all out!) --Alinnisawest,Dalek Empress (extermination requests here) 12:50, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Stuff to add

I'd like to see a section on common elements in AE games. It would basically cover the world of Lore, Moglins, the upgrades, stuff like that. That way we could link to it from the other articles instead of explaining it three times. --Eruhildo (talk) 22:08, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Hmm...I'm really not too sure. The game articles are for that...this is about the company... Ronan Alifar (talk) 02:54, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

I guess you're right, maybe we should have a separate article then, or none at all. --Eruhildo (talk) 14:29, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Interviews

Here's a list of sites that contain interviews with the staff. An IP user added them to the external links section so I'm moving them here.

--Eruhildo (talk) 19:03, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

It would be nice to have the interviews all linked on the wiki page, so that they're all in one place.

MMORPG

Is it really necissary to have Artix's entire letter written down? Darth Revan 5873 (talk) 01:23, 29 May 2008 (UTC)Darth Revan 5873

AdventureQuest Worlds

It is no longer necessary to have "Unnamed MMORPG (thought to be _____)" in the name, as it has been confirmed by being on the homepage. It is the running title they have been using, and Artix announced it publicly. It is official. AQWIKI (talk) 22:00, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Where is it official? From reading the forum and the stuff from Artix, I gathered that it was a working title. Perhaps I am incorrect, but I was (am) under the impression that it was presumed, but not technically official. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alinnisawest (talkcontribs) 22:14, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Erm...Its in big, fancy lettering on the http://aqworlds.com homepage. <_< That, and its the domain name. Finally, Artix was waiting to announce the name. Normal human nature kinda dictates that he wouldn't do that for a working title, especially with the release date so close. AQWIKI (talk) 22:30, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Just thought I'd leave a note on what I edited: Under the AdventureQuest Worlds title, it claimed that "Alpha testing by paid players will begin..." This is incorrect as it was done by paying players, also known as verified players. I will also update the tense, as this testing has already occurred. 70.238.150.40 (talk) 18:33, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Technically, it's in progress. *looks over at other browser screen, where she's on AQW* Alinnisawest (talk) 20:02, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Beta

I added a note for AQWorlds section that the Beta will end in a few days. It should be keeped. Warning that it does end in a few days. Also AQWorlds has a new page, AQ.com and that I added..........

Date of Zardian's Beginning?

The article says the Zardian was started in September 2007. However, ot just had its one year anniversary, and there's 25 editions that have been released every two weeks. So that's definately not the right date. Does anyone actually remember when it *did* start? Alinnisawest (talk) 00:06, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Alac (previous Editor-in-Chief for The Zardian) said that the first issue was released in May, 2007. It has not released exactly every two weeks, but did keep to that schedule for the most part. User:PaperClip OF DOOM —Preceding undated comment added 12:26, 4 March 2009 (UTC).

Umm... I have a guardian account, and the Zard Wars game dosen't just have Zard battles. So I... fixed it. Just letting you people know. 156.3.74.84 (talk) 20:33, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Cool, thanks for that. --Eruhildo (talk) 00:46, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Does anyone think EbilGames should be italsised? It's a game site, not a game in itself. -- 156.3.74.84 (talk) 19:42, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Good point. Where was it italicised?

WarpGuaridan level cap

WarpGuardian level cap is not 10 levels higher than WarpTrackers, it is twice WarpTracker's level cap, someone correct it please, the current WarpTracker cap is 15 while the current WarpGuardian cap is 30 instead of 25... ...--Blade Of Judgement (talk) 10:16, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

It was +10 levels during the beta, I believe... well, technically it was twice as much, but I thought it was just +10. I'll change it... although you're capable of that too, you know! :) --Alinnisawest,Dalek Empress (extermination requests here) 16:57, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Actually it says on the WarpGuardian Upgrade page that WarpGuardians have a level cap at least ten levels higher than WarpTrackers. ←Fridae'§Doom01:02, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

I spoke out against the deletion of the "AdventureQuest Worlds" page when it was starting the Darkovia chapter. Unless there's a way to revive the pages where the AdventureQuest articles was kept, where am I supposed to put the synopsis for the game now. The other part of Darkovia comes out tonight. Rtkat3 (talk) 12:32, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

If you want the article for AQW (or any of the other articles) to be restored, you can try and have them undeleted at WP:UNDELETE (or you could create a new article about it, but since it's been deleted before, you would have to be careful and it may be deleted yet again in a short period) Harry Blue5 (talk) 16:51, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

There is no need for more pages outside this one. It covers the games well enough, and they aren't big and/or famous enough to have seperate articles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.176.26.161 (talk) 17:18, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Sorry but AQWorlds, DragonFable and MechQuest have a large player base and AQWorlds has been updated faster than the original games so much so that it is virtually complete in every MMORPG aspect in respect to the Stats, Housing, PVP and AI. I believe that at least the AQWorlds page should be revived. ←Fridae'§Doom06:01, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

In my opinion, MechQuest is definitely not as notable as the other games (not saying it isn't as good, just saying it isn't as notable). DragonFable is a huge game however, and the idea of bringing the article back doesn't seem like too bad an idea, though it isn't a necessity right now, (though I myself love the games with all my heart). I believe that DF should be brought back due to it's size, and AQWorlds maybe should be brought back because of its MMO-ness and huge player count. MQ, ED and WF don't seem to deserve articles, for now at least. Though, this is all of course just my opinion, and the removal of the articles in the first place did make sense to me. Harry Blue5 (talk) 09:33, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

AQWorlds Article

Marasmusine moved the old article to a subpage in my user namespace, the article must conform to all he linked to otherwise it won't be added. Refurbish the article and I'll show it to him once complete.

Here's the note:

Hi Fridae, I've moved the old article to User:Fridae'sDoom/AQW, happy editing.

One thing I want to make clear though is that the article will need to cite reliable secondary sources. The design notes (a primary) and wiki (not reliable) you linked to are not sufficient. Furthermore, to justify a seperate article you'll need to show how the game is notable - you mention that the mechanics and storyline are worth noting, but who's noted it? If you can construct a "critical reception" section, citing reviews from reliable publications, that would be perfect. If you've not already seen it, WP:VG/RS has a good list of online sources, and of course dead-tree magazines are preferable. My final observation is that the article has an in-depth description of the game's storyline. For the editing of this, I refer you to WP:WAF - again, the amount of space we give to describing the fictional elements should be proportional to the attention given by secondary sources.

I hope this helps, Marasmusine (talk) 08:32, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

Good luck people.Fridae'§Doom | Talk to me 08:49, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

DragonFable

I feel I should mention on this talk page that I am working on an article for DragonFable in my userspace, here. All are welcome to suggest things and edit, but please be weary of adding fancruft, lest the page be deleted before we can finish it. Harry Blue5 (talk) 12:28, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Okay, the article's done now. Harry Blue5 (talk) 20:51, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

All games

I belive that all the games should have tehyre OWN page except WF (On the AQ page would be good) since the current page really barely really say mucha bout them... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.203.112.147 (talk) 15:54, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

The problem is with sources. AdventureQuest, DragonFable and AdventureQuest Worlds all have reception and articles on IGN and the like which give them notability. I haven't gone into to much of thorough search for the other games, but a quick look returned only one reliable source for MechQuest. Any articles on them would most likely degenerate into fancruft-only information in a short amount of time. Harry Blue5 (talk) 22:11, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Reorganisation

Because the article looked a bit messy, I decided to redesign it a bit. "AExtras" is now under "Payment", and "Videos" and "Books" have been given their own proper sections. "Publications" has been changed to "Online games", and "Zardwars", "Archknight", "EbilGames" and "BattleOn Games" have been merged into a "Other games" section.
