Belmont Stakes
[edit]Just put this info in the Belmont Stakes article - there is no need for a separate one. Both are short articles already.Sylvain1972 (talk) 12:58, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
Disagree
[edit]I am afraid that I have to disagree. Please note that there are about 10 articles specifically designated to Famous and Prestigious Horse racing trophies (and flower presentations). If there is an article for the Kentucky Derby Trophy, the Woodlawn Vase (the Preakness Stakes Trophy), the Man o' War Cup (Travers Stakes Trophy), the Breeders' Cup trophies, the Kentucky Oaks Trophy, the Eclipse Award Trophy, the Haskell Invitational Trophy and the Annapolis Subscription Plate (for the Dixie Stakes and oldest trophy in America), "then I believe that there should be an article for the "AUGUST BELMONT TROPHY." Yes it is short right now but others will add to it in a very short time. In addition to the above, your Belmont Stakes article is already a huge and cumbersome article. I doubt many people would get far enough down to read about the trophy or flowers in such a large article unless you put it at the top (and then that takes away from what the article is designed to do) Talk about the Belmont Stakes RACE itself.--Craiglduncan (talk) 03:09, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, I see that you created all of those articles, and they are all redundant with the articles for the races that award them. The Belmont Stakes article is not at all long.Sylvain1972 (talk) 13:57, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
Sorry you feel that way. I did not create all the articles. I saw that three of them existed and started adding to it to make the category more comprehensive. I still believe it should be a separate article.--Craiglduncan (talk) 16:10, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
