[edit]Some places say 1155, others 1158. I wonder if no one really knows exactly. An English translation or link to the original document if it is online would be useful, one could then add a brief commentary and summary of the key items. It would also be interesting to note the reasons the documented was created, how it was received and it's longer term ramifications. On foot of
[edit]Can anyone provide background for or a definition of the term "on foot of" in the phrase "property could be seized on foot of debts"? It sounds like an idiom that means "on the basis of" but I've never seen this usage. I now see at least a couple uses in Wikipedia (e.g., Head of state immunity and Sean Garland). Thanks.
