WWI section

[edit]

I could envision a WWI section between existing sections reviewing the events in Palestine but they are not so much about the UK as they are of the British Empire and they are of some import enough that such a record would be greatly aided by non-Baha'i sources - I'm speaking of the orders to rescue Abdul'l-Baha and the alteration of plans of war and the prosecution of the war in that theatre. I've read some strong statements but real historical data would be equal to the weight of the import.--Smkolins (talk) 04:31, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Isle of Man isn't part of the UK either. It's a crown dependency.--MacRusgail (talk) 15:06, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Archdeacon Wilberforce at Church of St John

[edit]

Could this be ambiguous link refer to St John's Chapel, Bedford Row, and is the Wilberforce mentioned actually Albert Basil Orme Wilberforce (b. 1841), son of Samuel Wilberforce, son of William Wilberforce, who was associatrd with that Chapel, according to his article? I'm not sure, I don't know London that well. Is the Church in Westminster? Regards, -- Jeff3000 (talk) 07:04, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Most of Ireland is independent

[edit]

The writer of this piece doesn't seem to realise the Republic of Ireland is an independent state.--MacRusgail (talk) 21:57, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Until 1922, what is currently the Republic of Ireland was part of the UK and the history section is mostly contained before 1922. I'll fix the rest of the article. Regards, -- Jeff3000 (talk) 22:27, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why no article about 'Bahá'í Faith in England'?

[edit]

I see there is an article about 'Bahá'í Faith in Scotland' but not one about 'Bahá'í Faith in England'. I can't start one but I think someone should do it. Other religions, like Islam, has articles for each of the countries of the UK - this should too. 86.150.206.234 (talk) 23:00, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely. I'd take a skeleton from the UK article, search for "baha'i england" and exhaust Google, there are some baha'i journals for the UK that should be reviewed for content on England, ....

And Wales.... But I also gotta say, there are about 160ish other countries in the world that have nary a word about them and if the Baha'i Faith is the "second most widespread religion after Christianity" then we have a lot of documentation to fill in for lots of places!! I've done a great deal of the work on all such pages and would heartily welcome people coming in and doing a responsible job. I spent a lot of time in the sandbox - just take the skeleton of any such article and fill in with references and notation - the information you find will drive if the sections need modified names or subsections. Read a few such articles.... 'Course then there's refinements like getting pictures relevant to each of those countries - Baha'i Centers and schools, group shots, etc., that could be very supportive of the quality of the article. Spread the word!Smkolins (talk) 03:07, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agree it is needed so have done it to get it started, though I doubt I'll have time to improve it much - I leave that to others! Cheers Fishiehelper2 (talk) 20:10, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And I've now added to it - let's see if some others can chime in please?Smkolins (talk) 22:58, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

some pictures, all you British Baha'is!

[edit]

Look over at Bahá'í Faith in the Netherlands where we finally have some pictures! Smkolins (talk) 16:50, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

some folks around here might be interested in expanding sections of `Abdu'l-Bahá's journeys to the West
