Baseball assessment comment

The article mentions that the Oriels wore the Black Sox' uniforms to commemorate the 1932 championship season, but the only championship the article mentions is in 1929. Could something be added to explain this? 146.115.56.165 02:21, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Date of founding

[edit]

@Professor McKenna: Could you provide a source for changing the founding date from 1916 to 1913? Rgrds. --Bison X (talk) 15:31, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

My book: The Baltimore Black Sox: A Negro Leagues History, 1913-1936 Also, that photo that was on the page is not circa 1920 and is not of the Baltimore Black Sox. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Professor McKenna (talkcontribs) 18:16, 25 December 2019 (UTC) Over the next few months, I'll publish a summary of the book on wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Professor McKenna (talkcontribs) 18:29, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Date of folding

[edit]

It looks like the sources conflict on the year the club stopped operations. Several online databases show about a dozen games played in the NNL for the Baltimore Black Sox (ex. NLDB, Baseball Reference), but the SABR source (link) claims the 1934 league application was rejected, which is repeated in the article.

Citing a source showing that the 1934 Black Sox were an unrelated entity would go a long way to resolving the confusion LbPirate (talk) 22:56, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
