Death

[edit]

She died quite young, what of? Thanks, Maikel (talk) 06:09, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't found any sources stating the specific cause of death, but her brief death notice in The Times (accessible via their online digital archive) says she "died peacefully at home" and asks for donations to her "palliative carers." I've also updated the article with a number of other sources, including old news articles from Singapore's online newspaper archive. These indicate she was born in 1933 rather than 1938, in which case she would have been 63 (not 58) when she died. The Times obit does not mention her age. Apparently a death notice was also published in Singapore's Straits Times paper, but I don't have access to that.--Muzilon (talk) 04:02, 21 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Update: her death certificate says she died of cancer, sadly. And someone kindly just sent me a copy of the Singapore newspaper obituary. It does not state her age either: "Barbara Yu Ling Lee Albery. Was called Home to be with the Lord on 6.4.1997 in London, England. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by family, friends, and loved ones. Funeral service on 11/4/1997, Oxford, England." --Muzilon (talk) 20:18, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Businesspeople category?

[edit]

@Ser Amantio di Nicolao: Just wondering why you added the Category:20th-century British businesspeople here? The subject seems to have been notable as an actress rather than a businesswoman. Muzilon (talk) 07:18, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Muzilon: Odd...I thought I knew how she had entered the category tree, but it appears not. I've reverted, and will do a bit more investigation to figure out where in the category tree the error came up. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 14:47, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
