Russian Victory or ongoing?

[edit]

It looks like there's some debate as to whether or not the battle is ongoing or if it is a Russian Victory, so I want to start a discussion here. I don't believe that Russia has total control over the village as it has been claimed by the Institute of War that Russia does not have full control over Pisky, and the Donetsk Regional Administration has also stated that Ukraine still has control over Pisky (in response to the Russian claim of capturing Pisky). Therefore, it is too soon to say that the Battle of Pisky is a Russian Victory, it's merely claimed as a victory. Of course, I invite everyone else to give their opinion on the matter. According to this guy, which in my opinion is the most unbiased of map making sources, almost all of Pisky is under Russian control, but he marks it as contested. Why? Because there are a group of building close (slightly northeast) to the destroyed highway that are still under Ukrainian control, so the town hasn't fully fallen just yet. 2601:85:C101:C9D0:8C42:EF5E:9D6B:252F (talk) 18:54, 23 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Russian casualties

[edit]

The sidebar currently shows that Ukraine claimed that Russia suffered 270 soldiers killed and 7 tanks destroyed as a result of the battle of Pisky with this article as a source. This is, however, inaccurate. What the article actually claims is that Russia suffered 270 total casualties (not only deaths) across the entire front of the war in Ukraine on 29 July 2022. This has nothing to do with Pisky in particular, and thus I will remove it. Daniel222potato (talk) 21:53, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
