[edit]I should be interested to know the evidence for the pronunciation 'BUR-wick'. It is not recorded in J.C.Wells's Longman Pronouncing Dictionary (200) nor Daniel Jones's Everyman's English Pronouncing Dictionary (1977; revised A.C.Gimson), which are the authorities I usually use. I want to include this information in a Guide I am writing to usage in the English language. If it is the standard pronunciation among the locals, I of course accept that; but it would be interesting to know whether there is any degree of variation, in or around the village or its area.

Hmm i would say its BERIK or BURIK not BUR-wick - if you live in the village correct it as I could be wrong — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.233.78.230 (talk) 01:03, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
