The making of a profit is not the issue. Wikipedia articles must be written neutrally about a subject, not as a promotional write-up of/by the subject, and must prove notability per WP:CORP. Mayalld (talk) 13:21, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I've fixed it up in terms of making it a presentable article (getting the markup and structure right). It isn't about what you need to add. At the moment the page just regurgitates the party line from the PCT's own publicity. The article needs to include criticism from the local press to give a balanced view. I assume that you are a PCT employee, which makes it quite tricky for you to write the article objectively - see WP:COI. Good luck Mayalld (talk) 14:25, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, your presumptions are correct. Hopefully this will make it easier for the public to understand what the tPCT does. I have added some criticism of the PCT in the form of a news story about rickets. I will continue to search for more. Trust boundies[edit]

Where text uses the term 'co-terminus' is this in the sense that the boundaries of the BDPCT catchment area, is the same as the boundary lines of its Borough Council. If so, are the boundaries of the Social Services, also and exact overlay of these two as well? (The PALS office should be able to answer this)--Aspro (talk) 13:02, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good. I asked because seeing the word 'co-terminus' and then in the next sentence the word 'teaching' I had to stop to think if it was referring to a co-boundary in the demographic/geographic sense or the academic study sense of a say a co-terminus degree. Therefore, it might trip up other readers; perhaps it could be better phrased somehow? It is quite likely that in the resent past the boundaries did not coincide, this administrative problem is something that many trust have been slowly correcting since the big mergers and reorganisations across the NHS that took place in the 1990s. Can you corner any staff near to retirement to find out any more history – like what was it called before becoming a PCT (my guess is that it would have been something like the Blackburn Local Health Authority). Of course, it may also be that this tPCT has people on co-terminus courses as well, that might add more confusion. I wonder also, if there is enough information to have a section on what this trust teaches and put all in there? I have been informed by an original member of staff that the PCT was formed in August 2000. Before that it was a Primary Care Group, a sub-comittee of the East Lancashire Health Authority. Lynseywales (talk) 11:32, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]


I can't see any pubic transport directions to the Trust's building on the Trust's website. Is this an oversight or do they want to avoid visitors ? Is the link below showing the same area as the photograph in the article? Comment: I think this article would now benefit from a fresh pair of eyes. I understand what I have written but whether it makes as much sense to John and Jane Doe is another matter. Teaching status[edit]

This is some official information regarding the teching status of the PCT; 'Blackburn with Darwen has been involved in teaching PCTs since their inception as a national initiative in 2001, hosting the tPCT team for East Lancashire (working across the health economy) from 2002. The focus was on areas of disadvantage and under-priviledge which had particular problems with recruitment and retention. The formal status of teaching PCT was inherited from the previous tPCT arrangements.'
