Comments
[edit]Seems to me the 877,000 metro population given to Bluefield in the 1950's in this article is kinda exaggeration, current "micro" area only consists of Mercer and Tazewell Counties, now McDowell County may have been a part of it and could have been in the 200,000 - 300,000 range, but in order to have reached 877,000 it had to have reached Charleston. Like to see a reference on this. ~SSM
For notable people, a punk band called Blitzkid is from Bluefield. I would type it myself, but I'd likely mess it up. -CG — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:8805:1A2A:6500:5880:449A:A640:1D6F (talk) 21:33, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
Citations????
[edit]A very interesting article about my hometown, but it really needs references! Where did all this information come from? The accuracy of this article should be questioned because of the lack of citations.
== This is my mother's hometown, I've spent quite a lot of time there, and we're both very fond of the place. But some of the claims are outlandish. "First black college?" I'm afraid not. "Little New York?" Um, wishful thinking. Serious research and sources are required

Climate
[edit]According to the weather average chart for Bluefield, all monthly averages are above freezing, so it is a humid subtropical climate near the boundaries of humid continental and oceanic. Heff01 (talk) 18:52, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
Martha's Vineyard and Montauk, New York are also very close to the Cfa/Cfb/Dfa/Dfb equilibrium, with Martha's Vineyard being closest. Heff01 (talk) 04:08, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
Bluefield International Academy
[edit]The school list has an entry for Bluefield International Academy. As best I can tell, this place never existed. The Archive.org Wayback Machine shows old versions of their website and the photo of the building is obviously fake. The location given is a real road but there's no such building on it. I found one news article of the school trying to enroll students from Bahrain. Their old website never even gives a phone number. There's simply no way this place exists as their website claimed. Even now, their website is dead. This place either needs to be investigated or removed from Wikipedia.
