More than 1100 clubs distributed on the French territory gather nearly 60 000 bachelors. Regional and departmental Committees relay the action of the federation at the local level. In addition to the training of the teams of France (Climbing, Ski of mountain, Equips national young people mountaineers), the FFME plays a driving role in the organization of the championships and the competitions, in the formation of voluntary of the clubs (initiating) and of official of the competitions. The FFME defends the free access to the sites of practice in dialogue with its institutional interlocutors (other local federations, partners, partiquants...).

unite with MCofS?

[edit]

I think it would make sense to unite this with MCofS. One might also include information on "MCI - The Mountaineering Council of Ireland", [1] --Roxbury-de 19:34, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
