title[edit]

Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (geographic names)#Disambiguation, if the place is called "Xyz" ("Brod"), and it can't use that (and it can't because in worldwide and English usage it's too generic), it is disambiguated. It can't be disambiguated to "Brod (town)" because that same designation works for several other places listed at Brod. It is therefore disambiguated by the country in which the places lies, if this is sufficient. Apparently this might not be sufficient because there are at least two more villages called "Brod" in Bosnia and Herzegovina. But, neither of them currently have articles on the English Wikipedia, so the town takes precedence. When they do get articles, the town can still take precedence, and the villages will use the name of a smaller administrative division instead. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 10:09, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
