Informative page on High School —Preceding unsigned comment added by RyanJM (talkcontribs)

Not really good rationale for inclusion here. While some educational institutionals may be notable, this one does not appear to be. Luke! 19:51, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment

[edit]

I am assessing this article as C / Low after a request. A pretty substitutional article for what appears to be a regular high school, and with lots of pictures, an infobox, and many sections it deserves a C-class rating. The logo is currently on Wikimedia Commons and will probably need to be moved to the English Wikipedia for copyright reasons, but that can be sorted out easily. The main problem with the current article which comes out while reading is that it is a bit promotional, intentional or not, and hence is not really following policy. The section titles don't really help here - 'Innovation and improvement' and 'Learning and achievement' sound nice, but I would expect to find them in a school leaflet. WP:WPSCH/AG gives some ideas on section titles. Despite the article's length, it is still missing some sections, such as alumni and extra curricular activities. I would also use prose in context rather than lists - for example the school contains a list of rectors, this could probably be merged into other sections, such as history, with rectors over time pointed out and explanation on what a rector is. The references could be improved, there are a lot of them which is great, but it would be better if citation templates were used such as {{cite web}} and that the refs themselves appeared after full stops as it looks better. With work this article could become a good article (GA) candidate. Camaron | Chris (talk) 10:37, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Section Titles

[edit]

Thank you for your comments. 'Innovation and improvement' and 'Learning and achievement' are the section titles that have been adopted by the Scottish Government when Her Majesty's Inspectors (HMIe) report on schools. The content is based on the HMIe report referred to. Qeqertaq (talk) 19:59, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

A really informative and modest account of a school with a tremendous record of innovation and improvement in northern Scotland. During the last 15 years three successive reports from HM School Inspectors have given Buckie High School amongst the highest ratings possible. My children have been through the school and I can certainly confirm that this is a notable school. It meets the educational needs of the community it serves remarkably well. The excellent references are worth exploring. Notable schools do not need to be fee-paying! Scotand has a long and proud tradition of publically run schools. Buckie is a fine example. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.146.48.197 (talk) 21:01, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alumni

[edit]

Have added this section, but can't think of any more notables of the top of my head. Any one else? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leftboy (talkcontribs) 19:00, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
