Hi @OxonianofOsney: I'm leaving this message here as I just want to discuss some of the edits you've made to this page. In my edits yesterday after you published the page, I removed some stuff I thought was out of place in a Wikipedia article, mainly to do with WP:PEACOCK, and WP:NOTOBITUARY. Since then, you've added some stuff in which I think may not be sticking to a completely encyclopaedic tone; however, I would rather discuss this first before removing or changing anything myself. For example, yesterday I removed some stuff such as calling Atkinson "pre-eminent", as I thought this was WP:PEACOCK. You've since added that in; so could I ask why you think that should be included, and if any of the sources given call Atkinson that? Also, after I removed a quote from his obituary, there's now a paragraph in the "Academic Career" section (starting As a tutor, he was remembered...) which seems to read like an obituary, and I think this is a case of WP:NOTOBITUARY.
I just want to discuss whether these things should be included in the page, and I would like to hear your opinion on these issues. Thanks ! And when you reply, if you could ping me, or leave a message on my talk page, that would be great! Seagull123 Φ 21:13, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
