icebreaking?
[edit]Can someone please explain how a hovercraft could possibly be used in the task of icebreaking, or at least a reference that claims that the CCGH Waban-Aki participates in that activity? Perhaps the craft is used for transport over icy waters and not icebreaking per se(?). If a reliable source cannot be found I would like to remove the claim that the craft is used for icebreaking. 67.86.75.96 (talk) 19:56, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
- Not icebreaking but more like ice clearing - reference found and added to article. 67.86.75.96 (talk) 23:44, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
Hovercraft Decommissioned from CCGS / Sold / Renamed
[edit]This Air Cushion Vehicle (ACV) was sold and renamed and is no longer a CCGS Vessel as of 2010. I am just not sure how we go about listing the hovercraft if it is not in service of the Canadian Coast Guard.
Further More the Canadian Coast Guard doesn't list hovercrafts on there decommissioned list of vessels. It's just been whipped off there website.
I did find reference of the vehicle:
- Vintage Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) Facebook Page.
- Correo Orinoco Youtube video Although this was only found with it's new name and new area of operation.
We are not going to rename the page until we have an attributed reference to the rename currently the Facebook page and the Youtube page don't make the cut for a completely page rename.
