Flag for speedy deletion[edit]

Fellow Wikipedians, I've flagged this page as it appears to simply clone the IMDB page of the individual, who doesn't meet A7 guidelines for notability. Also, please note that this page was created by a sockpuppet for an indefinitely banned User:(talk) My apologies if this is an improper flag E.M.Hoey (talk) 13:47, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Restored[edit]

No issue with the speedy, but there's enough sourcing to pass A7 and have dealt with IMDb copyvio issue. I'm not super familiar with actor notability guidelines, but think she might make it. StarM 00:43, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Restore Filmography and other Additions[edit]

I am requested that the filmography of both film and television credits that was removed from my page be restored and updated. This is a legitimate list of verifiable credits, verified by IMDB as being listed as a Principal cast member by the production company on the production's page. I had Principal Actor credits in all of the productions, all productions were under Sag-Aftra union contracts. Other actors Filmography's on Wikipedia do not have specific references listed so mine was in line with what is already practice on Wikipedia. IMDB is listed as an external link on other actors pages.

I am requesting that my birth name, education, spouse and children be added to the short description/info box section of my page. The information is as follows: Caitlin Barry Dulany, Northwestern University School of Communication, married to Jean-Pierre Henraux from 1996 - 2013, One child. If adding a Personal Life section, Jean-Pierre Henraux and I were separated in 2012 and divorced in 2013. My son was born in June, 2000.

I am requesting that a photo of me be added to the the short description/info box section of my page. Photos of me at public events that are available for public use can be found on the internet with the events listed.

Thank you!

Here is some other news for my page that is worth adding in terms of notoriety: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/01/nyregion/harvey-weinstein-class-action-suit.html , https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr-esq/disney-seeks-class-action-harvey-weinstein-misconduct-1130622 , https://www.vulture.com/2020/07/harvey-weinstein-class-action-accusers-agree-to-usd19m-deal.html , https://chicago.suntimes.com/2019/8/31/20840018/untouchable-review-harvey-weinstein-documentary-hulu

Thank you for those links and moving the conversation here Caitlindulany. Unfortunately we cannot use IMDB but will see whether the productions are sourced elsewhere. Whether or not they're used elsewhere (or SAG-AFTRA) isn't a useful barometer, unfortunately as there are a number of long standing articles that haven't been brought up to current standards. IMDB is fine as an external link, which are held to a different standard than inline sources. We edit older articles as we come across them. Someone else will need to speak to whether those photos meet our photo guidelines. I am unfortunately less familiar with those guidelines than I am prose. Thanks again and happy to answer any other questions.

Thank you for your attention to this. However, please refer to any other actor's page on Wikipedia that have 'Filmography' sections and you will see that the credits within the Filmography sections are not specifically footnoted/referenced on actor's sites on Wikipedia. This is work that I have done as a Principal performer that can be found on streaming networks, broadcast networks. DVD's and Blurrays, as well as specific production company's sites. My credits are listed on all of these productions. Please restore and update mine, in keeping with the information available for other actor's pages published on Wikipedia.Thank you! Hi. As I mentioned, standards have changed and not all articles have been brought up to current standards. It's a work in progress. I'll see what of the filmography I can restore based on the info that is sourced. I found Life Goes On courtesy of a book, but wasn't able to source the other guest appearances, for example. Specific production companies would not be independent reliable sources, but I'll see what I can find. Glad you're following (watching, in Wikipedia language) the page so you'll see edits. Thank you for the updates. Can you please add that I have one child. I still don’t understand how documented appearances and work for which an actor has proof of employment isn’t verifiable. If you can please explain. Also, I feel it is unfair for all other actors on Wikipedia to have Filmography sections without specific references attached published on their pages and mine was taken off. It doesn’t seem reasonable and I would request again to return this documented work to my page. Guest spots, recurring/multiple episodes in television movies, roles in films. I have 34 credits (more if you add the multiple episodes for some) as well as appearances on TV news shows. These can be found on streaming platforms as well as for sale as DVD’s and Bluerays with my credits listed. In terms of pictures, photos of me attending the Project X premiere and a Television Academy event can be found for use on the internet, as well as a press conference held in Los Angeles on February 23, 2020. Again, thank you for your attention to my page. I appreciate the updates you have made and look forward to seeing more. Caitlindulany (talk) 16:27, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you can also please add my education (Northwestern University School of Communication) to the Short Description/info box, along with Children:One child. Thank you. Can you tell me if this is considered an independent source: https://tv.apple.com/ca/person/caitlin-dulany/umc.cpc.49i6vyandjgoboas0lwlfq9f7 Thank you. Hi. Education is added, I'm not sure why the child field isn't working, but looking into that. (Tech issue, not anything wrong with what you provided). I think you have an understandable confusion about the role of Wikipedia articles. Unlike IMDB or other industry listings, they aren't meant to be an exhaustive list of all of your work. Rather, they're meant to include the notable work (whether acting, advocacy in your case) which then allows the reader to learn more about your work. There is a difference between what is verifiable, and what is notable. For example, if you look at the entertainment guidelines, it's not necessarily the case that one appearance on Law & Order, for example, would be considered notable although your career itself is. That's why the link to your imdb profile remains, and if you have a personal website with your portfolio (not sure exactly what it's called in the acting world, I'm more used to visual art), we can also link to there. The issue with the AppleTV link is they pull from here so it's a circular reference and wouldn't help with verification. Photos on the internet are not necessarily in alignment with how images can be used on Wikipedia. Going to see who can weigh in on that and help us. StarM 18:50, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the edits and for you attention to my page. And for reaching out to see if others can help/clarify. It's much appreciated. I understand what you are saying about the notability work versus list of credits in general, our Wikipedia. However, Filmography sections in particular on all other actors pages on Wikipedia are lists of credits. So again, it doesn't make sense to me why I am being singled out and not allowed a comprehensive Filmography in keeping with all the other actors on Wikipedia. I'm not sure you are correct about Apple. They don't seem to be pulling from here in my case. All of my episodes of er are listed right now, for example, as is the documentary Untouchable. These are notable pieces of work in my history. I sent a link to an article about Untouchable previously in this conversation. Here are a few more: [1] [2] Thank you again!Caitlindulany (talk) 00:15, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, if you look at the top of the Apple TV page right after the short sentence on you, it says Wikipedia. Thanks on these links, will integrate them and keep looking into the photo question over the next few days. You're not being singled out, it's just that there are something like six million articles and there's no rhyme or reason as to when an editor will work on a particular article. For example, when I found the article about you in 2019, it only had one source and another editor didn't believe it made it clear that your work was notable since the article had been left in a relatively unsourced state since 2011. It was in the queue to be speedily deleted. I did a little research and found some sourcing, which made it enough to avoid the speedy deletion process as I could tell that the overall volume of your work brought you to the notability bar. There are unfortunately long backlogs so other articles will soon be brought up to standards as those also continue to evolve. Does that help? StarM 14:06, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Yes, very helpful. And thank you again for working on my page! Still, I have to say that it remains nonsensical to me that when I look up actors on Wikipedia, all of them have a comprehensive list of credits in their Filmographies and no references linked. I haven’t come across one single Filmography that didn’t follow this pattern - all credits, no references linked to the Filmography. I do feel it’s unfair that mine was taken down, as this seems to be the standard on Wikipedia, I highly doubt that the Filmographies will ever be removed from all the other actors pages as it was from mine. I do appreciate your attention to my page, however, and thank you for rescuing it from being deleted! Caitlindulany (talk) 03:35, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Can you please look at the references for the documentary Untouchable. I believe that my appearance in this should be added to my bio. Also, I found the reference to a television credit of mine, Ally McBeal, and believe it should be added as well.

Thanks for those Caitlindulany. Will add. Also with this new section, any links you add (thank you) will show there for ease of anyone else should they get to it before me. StarM 21:02, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
