Should a reference to a similar US institution be removed?[edit]

I know we Canadians are unique, however I don't see why we must re-invent wheels :-) Why remove a reference to the FDIC from this article? - a comparison can be useful, No? Ottawahitech (talk) 21:45, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Alternatively the FDIC can be referenced in a See also section. What do you think? Ottawahitech (talk) 20:23, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
American references are common on Wikipedia, despite their blatantly violating Wikipedia neutrality. If there are going to be references to American counterparts then there should also be references to other national counterparts, to balance the neutrality. Agreed - Americans can also benefit from references to well-documented solutions of other nationalities. Ottawahitech (talk) 04:08, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually its nice to see that there is something we can do better than our neighbours to the south :-) For example it appears that Canada has had no bank failures since 1996, but the USA is having a lot of trouble in this respect: Federal_Deposit_Insurance_Corporation#Current_Financial_Crisis_.282008-2010.29 btw I added cdic as as see also in the fdic article Ottawahitech (talk) 10:29, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
