Re: the picture just linked to this page, it's facing the wrong direction for the article content. Ok, it has the U.S. Capitol in it, but Capitol Hill extends east from the Capitol building, while this picture faces west towards the National Mall, so it really isn't very illustrative of the article subject. I'll see what I can come up with. Postdlf 15:58, 15 Jul 2004 (UTC) cjxfdoj\ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.167.196.82 (talk) 19:58, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
More history in progress
I have additional material on the history of the neighborhood. I am planning shortly to split the article into sections, one on history, one on features, and add the text on the history.

Capital Hill, while portrayed as a very nice and clean neighborhood has violent sections near the borders into other neighborhoods.

Jenkins Hill name
This interesting topic seems specific enough to be placed in History, rather than the opening overview. A reference has also been added. RickDC (talk) 20:55, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Though I don't know where it came from, while tracking my ancestry, I found that it led to a "Daniel Jenkins" who bough a parcel of land called "God's Guift". A note I founds states "Notes for Enoch Jenkins: Owned 285 acre tract call "God's Guift". (Later called Jenkins Hill, on which the U.S. Capitol was built" emperorcezar (talk —Preceding undated comment added 21:59, 17 December 2009 (UTC).

Capitol Hill (Washington, D.C.) → Capitol Hill — This is location most commonly referred to as "Capitol Hill" in English, and it is most commonly referred to as "Capitol Hill" everywhere, not only in Washington D.C. Moreover, "Capitol Hill" has redirected to this page, under whatever title, since 2007, and without any objection. We should use the short name that is in common use, and the existing hatnote will take care of any confusion. — Gavia immer (talk) 02:20, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- I may eat my words, but since this move is to an existing redirect for the page, I don't think a discussion is needed. I'll go ahead with the db on the redirect. --Bsherr (talk) 02:25, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- Comment don't most people mean the United States Capitol when they say "Capitol Hill" ? 76.66.200.95 (talk) 03:49, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think so; while it is sometimes used as a metonym, I don't think it rises to the level of overshadowing the literal use. Powers T 15:01, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Capitol Hill. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}}
