List of Celebrities - 3rd opinion

[edit]

I noticed your request for a 3rd opinion on how to display the list of celebrities. You might wish to choose a way to retain information covering both series 1 and 2. If it is expected that there will be multiple series in the future, with celebrities regularly taking part in multiple series, then the question of how to display the information has some relevance. If it's going to be just 2 series and then finish, whether you choose a list or table seems largely immaterial. Pmbma (talk) 05:41, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Pmbma[reply]

I have been trying to work with User:CactusJack12345678 in a helpful way, but he has been completely non responsive to my attempts to help this page become a good article. The series, Celebrity Rehab, may continue, but the Sober House, is a brand new show and as such, doesn't need to have a table referencing the previous. I know it seems like a somewhat right thing to do, because yes it is a continuance, but Andy Dick wasn't on the show, nor was Jennifer Gimenez. And I completely understand that this table has been formatted like other pages, however, this is not a Real World/Road Rules Challenge, or any other reality show competition. At first, this list of celebrities was spaced out for unknown reasons. Then an anon user added a table, for more unknown reasons. All I have been asking for is a compromise to bring the article together because I'm sure that as the show becomes more advertised, people are going to come to wiki for a page that isnt in dispute between users..that's all. If User:CactusJack12345678 would come to the table and we could figure out how to work this article over, I would be more than willing to help out. It really and truly is getting ridiculous and I'm glad someone else stepped in and asked for a third opinion because I really don't see this getting any closer with just the two of us. There is no way I will budge on this. I took time to create this page and I should have the final say. User:CactusJack12345678 —Preceding undated comment was added at 18:20, 27 December 2008 (UTC).[reply]

I understand where you're coming from, but to block other editors from the page by simply reverting all of the beneficial edits is unnecessary. Furthermore, at the bottom of the very page where all of the reverting occurs, it clearly states that, "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed for profit by others, do not submit it." I can understand that you feel a slight ownership over this article, but we are only trying to help. Now later, when other editors happen upon this article, they will edit will more ferocity than the people here are trying to do with you. I know because many articles I have been involved with from the beginning have been stumbled upon, edited mercilessly, but in the end wind up being articles both sides can be proud of. As a community, we are supposed to help out pages and that is all we are trying to do with you. I don't know why you won't budge, but if necessary, I have no problem taking this even further by calling more people into this discussion, which is something I really don't think is needed at all. The only thing I have been asking from you is a simple resolution, but you're being a brick wall about it. Let us help you. That's all I'm asking of you. Cheers!!--EmperorofBlackPeopleEverywhere (talk) 00:30, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am all for help and suggestions and appreciate all of them, and if somebody posts something I think is good, I'll keep it, however, the way you want to list the celebrities I do not like. So, I will not budge. User:CactusJack12345678 —Preceding undated comment was added at 05:14, 28 December 2008 (UTC).[reply]

I don't see the need for a table or excessive spacing, that's all. I don't understand what the problem of pulling all of the names closer together and separated, in paragraph format, would bring. And on a different note, this may be a continuance, but a table is not needed. I mean, seriously, like I said before, this is not a challenge page, it's a real show documenting people's real life struggles and their struggles to live a sober life. Why would a table listing their involvement in previous shows, be needed? And two of the people weren't even involved in Celebrity Rehab, they just showed up for this new show. I'm just asking for reasoning behind a table or spacing or if it is just me that you're against? Because that is how it is starting to feel. That no matter how beneficial the edits may be, anyone who agrees or any edits made by me are going to be reverted. And that is something that I really don't understand. I mean correct me if I'm wrong, but every edit I have tried to make with the hope of creating a better article, has been reverted. I can't stress enough how I just want to work with you on the page to bring it to a place that both of us can be proud of, but you're not working with me. I'm only trying to make the page clear to understand and read, so PLEASE, don't budge for me, budge for the benefit of the article. Cheers!!--EmperorofBlackPeopleEverywhere (talk) 19:00, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For what it's worth, I think the table looks fine the way it is. The only thing I'd change is to show "" Seth "Shifty" Binzer"" instead of Shifty Shellshock.Rodandjoyce (talk) 03:09, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Series 1 and 2 need to be defined and documented. Given that the show has not yet aired this is a bit overdone. It does strike me as impermissible product promotion. Racepacket (talk) 07:11, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have indicated season now on the article.--Terrillja talk 21:59, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
