Gentrification

[edit]

Does it still make sense to talk about "rapid gentrification" in Central Square? Yes, many new restaurants opened in 2023 and the rents keep going up. However, Starbucks closed and there remain several other vacancies of commercial spaces on Mass Ave near the train station. Also, the one example of Central "losing its edge", is no longer accurate in a sense, because Manray re-opened recently. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DakaCookies (talkcontribs) 15:30, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Removals?

[edit]

Does anyone know why the list of things in Central was removed? Yes, I can go back and see it in the history, but I was actually here specifically in the hopes of finding the name of a business that was on it. If such a list is included for Harvard Square it seems appropriate for Central.

BTW, for those who care about such things, Affleck supposedly bought a condo in the Central Sq. area late last year. Is it gentrification when you get rich and return to the area where you started?Thespian 10:20, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
