Name of article

[edit]

Should this article be "Province" of Canada? Why not some sort of electoral district? Indeed, should it not be merged into Champlain (provincial electoral district) ? PKT 13:45, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

@PKT: All very good questions! A decade on, we're having a useful discussion on all of these issue at the Canadian discussion board. Please join in! Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 18:16, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Party colours

[edit]

Party colours are given for each member. In doing so, care must be taken to avoid anachronistic use of modern party colours. Party affiliation was a fluid and dynamic concept, and changed throughout the 26 years of the existence of the Province of Canada. Wikipedia:WikiProject Political parties and politicians in Canada/list of parties does not have colours assigned to pre-Confederation parties, so colours have been assigned to each party or group from the range of colours available.

In the table of members for Champlain, the following colours have been used:

  • Buff: Anti-unionist
  • Green: French-Canadian Group
  • Light Red: Liberal
  • Red: Rouge
  • Blue: Bleu
  • Confederation: Yellow
