Cleanup

[edit]

I will take some time to clean up, and add content to this page. I expect to add a few more solid references and a link or two. I have also asked professor Linde for his permission to use the illustrations which were included in his Scientific American article. No response yet, but he does seem to indicate (on home page) that they are freely available for use by the media.

Cleanup process begun, starting with first paragraph. I'm glad I have a Physics background and some familiarity with the topic, since it needs help. As it is an article about a Physics theory which is still current, or considered viable, I think it needs to be cleaned up and re-written boldly (to do Linde justice), but I'll start slow, and try to keep much of what's here already. Will return later today, if time permits.

A little more today. I started editing History section. I wonder about Hoyle steady-state comment. I guess it relates to the "eternally existing" aspect. Will re-phrase, and continue down page, if I have time.

A little more, this evening. Detail of Starobinsky story found in Linde's Scientific American article. Will go further when I can.

See also section added. Still trying to get permission to use Linde's wonderful graphics.

A little more today. Still trying to effect general clean-up and improve readability. I worked on opening section and 'History of' section, this AM, after doing a little research. More later, perhaps.
