[edit]My understanding is that Charles has climbed on Everest, but he didn't summit?--TDKehoe 16:07, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Notability
[edit]This article was created almost 20 years ago, and still has almost no refs. The reason is that apart from being wealthy (and appearing on "rich lists"), there is almost zero RS on this person, and zero SIGCOV pieces in any regional/national RS? Given his wealth and donations (his donations to Cambridge are so large they names a lizard after him), is quite odd. 78.18.228.191 (talk) 22:02, 8 January 2023 (UTC)
- Agree. My recollection from chatting with Charles is that he trekked to the Everest base camp (hardly worth noting in Wikipedia) and wrote a how-to book about organizing mountaineering expeditions (worth noting). I thought he was fifth in the Leadville 100, at age 52. TDKehoe (talk) 19:23, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
