Request 24 December 2020

[edit]

Charley Pride discography → ? – I made a mistake doing this. I already split this main discography into both an albums and singles page. However, I forgot to move the original discography talk page to one of the associated new discography talk pages. Can this action still be performed and the former talk page moved to Charley Pride albums discography? Thank you. I've removed the template because a redirect cannot be the current title in a page move request. The current title to be renamed must be a page with significant content. Redirects are not eligible.
To address your inquiry, it appears that you split out CP's discography into two articles, one for albums and one for singles. That seems okay. This redirect, Charley Pride discography now targets Charley Pride#Discography, which also seems okay. What is usually done is to move the article page that you want to split over to one of the new titles you create (albums) and then make a new article from the split out of the other material (singles). You are not too far off the mark and I think I can fix it. So please be patient. P.I. Ellsworth  ed. put'r there 21:08, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Take your time! Thanks. ChrisTofu11961 (talk) 21:09, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
To editor ChrisTofu11961: should be ready to go. Be sure to never copy and paste when you want to move/rename a page. Always use the "Move" button near the top of the page, which will also move the page's history. If that button is missing, you will need some help to move the page. More info can be found at WP:RM. Best to you and yours this holiday season! P.I. Ellsworth  ed. put'r there 22:16, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Paine Ellsworth: Thank you so much for your help and advice! Have a great holiday as well! ChrisTofu11961 (talk) 22:29, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
