"Charlie Albright" wiki article

Hello! First time contributor! A couple edits here I would highly recommend to Charlie Albright's article.
1) Charlie is indeed a composer and improviser, as is proven in the primary sources of his official YouTube channel (YouTube.com/pianomanca) and Soundcloud sites (Soundcloud.com/pianomanca). "Composer" and "Improviser" should therefore be restored in his description. I've been to a recent concert he gave and he also did improvisation as an encore at the Gardner Museum in Boston.
2) Also noticed that the track list description box of his CD was removed...it should be restored, as per other musicians' discographies being a part of their wikis.
Have a great day!

- Welcome to Wikipedia. You obviously have a close connection to the subject, especially in light of the recent edit warring and sockpuppetry associated with this biography.
- Regarding Albright being a composer, none of his compositions have been recognized on their own.
- Regarding "improviser" as an occupation; this is not a valid occupation.
- Regarding the CD tracks, this is a biography, not an article about an album. Binksternet (talk) 18:14, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
Less focus on childhood accomplishments
[edit]Now that Albright is a college graduate, I think the biography should focus less on childhood accomplishments, that a lot of detail should be trimmed away so that the adult career is not obscured. Binksternet (talk) 20:44, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

Serious concerns about neutrality of contributors
[edit]I have serious concerns about the neutrality of this article, and I think I am not alone in this based on some of the discussions and edit comments made by others.
This page was created back in 2010 by a @Jdanieloh. One of the sources in this article names a "Daniel J. Oh" as Charlie Albright's blockmate in college, which is highly suggestive if not outright demonstrative of a clear conflict of interest. This user has since made a hundred edits (one as late as 2022) that are all related to this article only, many of which are highly opinionated and serve to push a very favourable view of the subject. One example of the more idiosyncratic changes this user has insisted on is calling Albright a "pianist, improviser, and composer", despite the highly non-standard use of "improviser" as an occupation and Albright's relative obscurity as a composer. Furthermore, this user has been caught using a sockpuppet account to support themselves in an edit war, for yet another highly eccentric edit which included an irrelevant photo of Albright in the Steinway and Sons article, and was subsequently blocked for a week.
I do not think this has stopped the obvious shilling. After the sockpuppet investigation, there has been a constant stream of similarly opinionated edits up to the present day, this time from unregistered users. This includes again the weird insistence on calling Albright an "improviser". Jdanieloh's latest edit in 2022 (after no activity since 2015) was to undo a prior edit such that the main photo of the article re-included Joe Biden after another user cropped him out to show only Albright.
Pending a more thorough clean-up of the clearly promotional tone of this article, I think the COI and advert maintenance templates are warranted. Sleedy (talk) 12:47, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
