'What Evil Lurks' Link[edit]

Given that What Evil Lurks is an EP and the Album template lists EPs should it also be linked here as a single? I'm gonna be bold and go ahead and change it for now. TygerKrash (talk) 10:52, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

'Remixes' Section[edit]

I'm not sure that this section is relevant? It seems to be a lot of what I would call fan mixes or simple repetition of items from the various versions of this single, Even if it is relevant than I specifically have a problem with these unofficial remixes (and IMHO of dubious quality) being granted the same status as the official remixes. Not sure how this is handled elsewhere, will take a look.TygerKrash (talk) 10:23, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think all "fan" mixes are unrelevant. Of course they don't bother a separate article, but maybe should get a separate section. I think official released, or DJ-made "fan" remixes can be relevant, a mix can be relevant from authors who have stabile articles on wikipedia or notable in an other "official" meaning.

But most of the mixes there weren't in fact fan mixes, but "official" remixes, released by Prodigy itself on remix and compilation albums and Single CD-s. I put a source template to Charly Bit Me remix, cause it is not "Charly Bit Me", but "Charlie Bit Me", and no evidence shows that it is related to Prodigy tracks. Just for fun, a more complete list:

  1. A: Official from prodigy:
    1. Charly (I). (early v. from 5-track Demo Tape) [1990/91]]
    2. Charly (II) (early v. from 10/16-track 'Kean' Demo Tape) (1990/91)
    3. Charly (video v.) / Audio part is almost or totally the same as Alley Cat 7 edit [1990/91]
    4. Charly (Trip into Drum 'n Bass) / "Experience" v. [1992]
    5. Charly (Beltram Says Mix) [1991]
    6. Charly (The Alley Cat Mix) / long v. (5:35) [1991-08-12]
    7. Charly (The Alley Cat Mix 7" Edit) / short v. (3:50) [1991-08-12]
    8. Charly ("Original Mix") - [1991] I don't know why is this titled to original, it is everything but not original, but undoubtly made by Howlett
  2. B: More or less official from others (professional DJ's and bands who has labeled products known by me):
    1. Charly (JOC Rework) - made by professional DJ Joint Operations Centre i.e. J. O'Callaghan (Soundcloud Youtube Facebook), but maybe released as unlabeled CD, date still unknown. It is sure it made before 2009 (youtube uploads are dated 2009 dec.)
    2. Charly (JOC Rework 'Subculture' version) - A somewhat different version of "Charly 'Joint Operation Centre Rework'" from John O'Callaghan; "subculture version" is my expression. Other data also unknown.
    3. Charly (Dave Skywalker Mix) - made by professional DJ Dave Skywalker a.k.a. DJ Skywalker (civilian name: [www.soundcloud.com/daveskywalker Dave Curran] ) (discogs Youtube channel facebook), released in 2007 on "Dubplate", I don't know whether it is an album title or a record label.
    4. I love Charly (C. N. M.) - [2002] "released" on pirate CD made by a quite well-known remixer, remix of I love Charly "Restart v."
    5. Charly (97 Steps Remix) - [2009-07-26] made by Pierre Olivieri, "The 97 Steps"
    6. Charly (Cita Mode Mix) - [2010] made by a latvinian duo called Bar Duck
    7. Charly (Red Head Remix) - [?] made probably by Red Head, a less-known DJ, on Discogs he has official labels, but I don't know whether he was the author. Almost the same as "Charly clip v."
    8. Ch. (Texsteppa Dubstep Remix) - remix by Math Wilkins "Teksteppa" (aka D.R.O.P.S.), who has one officially released record (Keep Rockin') and some more MP3 releases. Made before 2010-01.
  3. C: Even less official mixes made by amateur DJs:
    1. Ch (Johnn Bassline refix) - remix by hobby DJ 'DJ JohnN' (= John Nuttall)
    2. Ch (2D Polygon Mix) - remix by youtube user Pokerockmario123, amateur(?) Dutch DJ or just an amateur musician also known as "Lorenzo", "2DPolygon" and "DJKilau". Date: 2010 or before (Youtube upload date is 2010).
  4. D: Totally unofficial-like: fanmade or unidentifiedly authorised remixes
    1. I Love Charly ("Restart version") - Charly Remix by unknown author "Promi" (?), released on pirate CD "Restart".
    2. I Love Charly (Nu Skool Breaks) - remix of "I love Charly C. N. M. Remix" by unknown remixer
    3. Charly 2009 - remix by fan remixer "NotADJJazzee", youtube upload.

    9. Ch. (shizo & Vierdo Mix) - remix by unknown remixers
    10. Ch. (Zinc Remix) - remix by unknown remixer (only the original charly with random reggae-like shouting)
    11. Ch. (Motor Mix) - not too good. :DDDD.
    12. Ch. (Extremesound Mix) - remix by unknown remixer
    13. Ch (Frostbyt Mix) - remix by youtube user DJFrostbyt1
    14. Ch. (Dj Squek Mix) - remix by youtube user Squeak_yd.
    15. Ch. (Modek Darwin's Remix) [2012-04?] - remix by S.cloud artist, youtube upload 2012. 04.
    16. Charly (Lee Oakes Remix) (2011 nov.)
  5. E: Other
    1. Charly Ratpack UK remix
    2. Charly (3 " CD Alley Cat Mix) FAST SPEED - ??? Seems to be a fake thing, but don't know.

I think category A is undoubtly relevant, category B is relevant too because of authot notability, and pieces in category C can be relevant in some cases, for exampample if they became extremely popular, officially and not-trivially mentioned in media, or behaving as a meme etc.

Popcorn[edit]

Doesn't hoover melody from Charly sounds like Popcorn by Gershon Kingsley and Hot Butter? No one mentions this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.111.59.18 (talk) 09:02, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
