Item of Error
[edit]Life
It is not Possible for Cecily de Welles to be a child of Margaret Beauchamp of Bletsoe - Lionel De Welles was the 3rd Husband of Margaret Beauchamp - marriage given as 14th Apr 1447. her 2nd Husband John De Beaufort having died 27th May 1444.
So for Cecily to be born to this marriage she would have been a maximun of 6 Years old when giving birth to Christopher Willoghby in 1453.
Personal estimate birth abt 1430 - Mother Cecily Waterton - Lionel's 1st wife. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.151.183.144 (talk) 18:20, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- I've corrected the error in the original article pointed out in the comment above, and added citations from Richardson as well as additional details establishing that Cecily Welles was Lionel Welles' daughter by his first wife, Joan Waterton. NinaGreen (talk) 19:05, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
Sir Christopher Willoughby (d.1438-40) : dates impossible (if you compare to siblings, wife, etc. around 100 years to early). E.Polti (talk) 14:51, 9 April 2016
Query of another possible Item of Error
[edit]The article states on the strength of Cockayne that Christopher and his father were buried at Campsey Priory. If true, a better citation would be useful here.
Possibly (?) this is a misreading by someone (?Cockayne) of certain sources which refer (not very clearly) to the burials of the de Ufford Duke of Suffolk and his father at Campsey Priory, see e.g. Augustine Page, A Topographical and Genealogical History of the County of Suffolk (F. Pawsey, Ipswich 1847), p. 187 (Google). The Ufford burials are certainly right, not so sure about Willoughby, which might be at Parham, for instance. Eebahgum (talk) 22:19, 20 August 2019 (UTC)
