[edit]

I am about to revert this edit [1] but wanted to open on talk as it appears to be in good faith from a new user. {{U|Raj0008]], welcome to Wikipedia. I looked at your edit and tried to find something to retain. There is more we could do to this page, but O don't think this edit will do. A few pointers:

  1. We don't use "Dr." or "Apostle" in articles. Just use the name.
  2. In any case, someone who has an honorary doctorate is not generally referred to as Dr.
  3. You provided three news articles. These perhaps contain some information we could use, but it is important to place a cited source beside the information it supports. So if we say he is married to Sonia, then we put this ref [2] beside that to show it is verified by that article.
  4. Most of what you added does not seem to be in the sources. For instance, the 300,000 members you added is not in the source although one source mentions 118,000.
  5. Numbers are tricky. Where do they come from? We need to look critically at claims in sources. Are they just quoting church publicity?
  6. We really could do with better articles than these newspapers. Are you aware of any books (not published by the ministry) that discuss it?
  7. Who awarded the honorary doctorate?

I understand you want to improve this page, but Wikipedia pages are written from verifiable secondary sources, so we would need to hunt those down. Thanks, and happy editing. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 18:31, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
