- Operation and decline
- "Problems with the size of the water wheel, which was supported at either end, meant that the middle of the wheel sagged, putting additional strain on the bearings and stays." Why "additional"? Additional to what?
- I suppose additional to the strain it would have been under if it hadn't been so wide and/or hadn't sagged in the middle. I've removed the word "additional".— Rod talk 07:15, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
- Construction
- "Further delays relating to obtaining specific items of machinery meant that the pumping station did not open until early 1813, and until then boats were prohibited from using Bath Locks during the dry seasons." Do we have dry seasons here in the UK?
- Basically when there wasn't enough water entering the canal to replace that lost when a boat went through the locks - could change that to "periods of low rainfall" or similar. I think "summer" may be too broad but not sure how to reword.— Rod talk 07:15, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
- "Periods of low rainfall" seems fine to me. Malleus Fatuorum 13:15, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
- Changed.— Rod talk 15:52, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
- Images
- The licensing for File:ClavertonWheel.JPG is inconsistent. The description says "for non-commercial use only", but the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 licence explicitly allows commercial use.
- Hmmm. I didn't take this photo & I'm not totally confident with the different licences. I have several other photos of the wheel - which I'm happy to upload "public domain", but they don't have the extra interest of the spare planks put there during restoration. Would it be best to just replace it with one of mine?— Rod talk 07:15, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
- I think it would. I'm not sure that Wikipedia allows commercial rights to be restricted in this way, so it seems likely that this image ought to be deleted anyway. Malleus Fatuorum 13:15, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
- I've switched the picture for another one of the wheel.— Rod talk 15:52, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
Looks good to to go to me now. Malleus Fatuorum 16:14, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
