Which sense of "lime"?[edit]

The song is about calcium hydroxide, not the citrus fruit, I think? Making a sour stomach remedy even more acidic doesn't make much sense, but I have no definite source for that... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dmesg (talkcontribs) 08:18, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The song is about the type of lime that sells for a dime. ChgoJohn (talk) 04:22, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Coconut-Large.jpg[edit]

Image:Coconut-Large.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:21, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What does it mean?[edit]

Does anyone know what it means? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.113.49.126 (talk) 06:34, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lyrics interpretation?[edit]

It seems from the lyrics, that first the coconut and lime were bought and drunk and bellyache ensues. Only then is the doctor called, who then repeats the story back to see if he understood and then proceeds to instruct to do the very same thing that caused the problem. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.248.218.89 (talk) 10:31, 8 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Why did he prescribe the same thing that caused the problem? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.27.10.61 (talk) 19:02, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

What about royalties?[edit]

How much total earnings has this song produced for Mr. Nilsson and his estate since its first release? I believe the Wiki song articles should include this data (or the "best estimate" from all reported or extrapolated data) in order to show the real consumer market impact of a particular piece of songwriting, and especially for "novelty" songwriting. Such data is commonly shown in Wiki for movie costs and revenue. Songs, as another form of public entertainment like movies, should have the same associated revenue information included.
